Tentsmuir Forest & Kinshaldy Beach

Kinshaldy Beach

Tentsmuir Forest is a large area of coastal forest and beach, in the Kingdom of Fife, situated on the headland between Dundee to the North and St Andrews to the South. It is managed by the Forestry Commission and the beach and forest are accessed from the Kinshaldy Beach car park.

There are no formal walks but there are well defined forest tracks that you can follow or stroll along the beach shoreline. Allow at least 2 hours.

Take the A92 towards Newport on Tay, on the South side of the river Tay, head towards Tayport and turn South on the B945 towards Leuchars. After about 2 miles follow the sign post on the left for Tentsmuir Forest and Beach. This is a single track road eventually leading to the Kinshaldy Beach car park. You must park here and there is a charge of £1.00 per car.

The forest and beach is accessible from the car park and there are toilet facilities, drinking water point, picnic tables and you can hire a barbecue for £2.50 (bring your own charcoal).
